FAQs for Your Smile Journey

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to schedule an appointment?

No referral is necessary! You can schedule a consultation directly with us to begin your orthodontic journey.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Since we’ve gone fully digital, there’s no need to bring much! If you have recent dental X-rays or insurance details, email them to us beforehand for convenience. Otherwise, just bring your smile and any questions you have—we’ll handle the rest.

How long does an initial consultation take?

Most consultations take about 15 to 30 minutes. During this time, we’ll assess your smile, discuss your goals, and outline potential treatment options.

How do I schedule or reschedule an appointment?

Scheduling or rescheduling is easy—simply call, email, or use our online scheduling system. We’re happy to accommodate your needs.

What is early orthodontic treatment?

Early treatment, often for children aged 7–10, focuses on addressing developmental issues like jaw alignment and overcrowding before they turn into significant life long problems.

Can adults get braces or aligners?

Absolutely! Orthodontic treatment is effective at any age, and we offer discreet options like clear aligners and ceramic braces for adults.

Will braces or aligners affect what I eat?

With braces, you’ll need to avoid hard or sticky foods that can damage brackets. With clear aligners, you can eat anything—just remove the trays during meals.

How do I clean my braces or aligners?

Brush thoroughly after meals and use a floss threader or water flosser for braces. For aligners, clean them daily with a soft toothbrush and clear aligner cleaning solution.

Can I play sports with braces or aligners?

Yes! For braces, we recommend wearing a mouthguard to protect your teeth and appliances during sports. Aligners can usually be worn during play but should be removed for contact sports.

How often do I need to visit during treatment?

Most patients visit every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments or progress checks. We’ll work with your schedule to make appointments convenient.

What happens if my aligner or braces break?

Contact our office as soon as possible. We’ll guide you on how to handle the issue and schedule a repair appointment if needed.

What should I do if a wire pokes my cheek?

Place orthodontic wax over the wire to prevent irritation, and call our office. We’ll schedule a quick fix for you.

What if a bracket comes loose?

If a bracket becomes loose, call us immediately. We’ll guide you on the next steps and schedule a repair appointment.
